Abstract: The Mars Telecommunications Orbiter (MTO) to be launched in 2009 will play a key role in the Mars Network since it will be the first interplanetary mission whose primary objective is to provide communications to existing and upcoming Mars missions, This paper presents a basic description of the primary mission an provides trajectory information for the Mars Telecommunication Orbiter.
